What is Adventure Boot Camp?
Adventure Boot Camp is a 4-week program of fitness instruction and team motivation led by a Certified Adventure Fitness Trainer. This program was developed by fitness expert, John Spencer Ellis, and has proven successful across the nation.
Camp will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30 - 6:30 am (the "no excuses time"). Fun, Motivation, and Inspiration are the themes each day.
Exercises include: calisthenics, short distance running/walking (less than one mile), body weight resistance training, strength training, jumping rope, lunges, squats, obstacle courses, hill running/walking, agility and power drills, athletic drills, stair climbing, partner drills, core muscle conditioning, stretching and flexibility training, and more.

What if I'm not very physically fit?
That's what we're here for. No one will be left behind or asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Each day will slightly increase in intensity. You are advised to always consult with your health care provider before beginning any new exercise program. Persons in high risk categories may be required to provide a physician's release.
What is the Cost? (Think of this as an investment in yourself)
The cost for a 4-week Boot Camp Program (3-days per week, M-W-F only) is $130. This price is well below the average cost of other Adventure Boot Camp programs nationwide, which typically start at $199 for a 3-day program. You get the same great instruction from an authorized Adventure Boot Camp facilitator here in Des Moines for much less than the national average!
Personal trainers can typically charge $40 to $120 per hour for their services. This is a great opportunity to receive motivating fitness instruction from a for just a fraction of the typical cost.
How often will we meet?
Camp meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:30 a.m. for one-hour during the 4-week program. All participants will be expected to arrive on time.
Where is Adventure Boot Camp held?
Adventure Fitness Boot Camp is held at beautiful Gray's Lake Park near downtown Des Moines. Gray's Lake is located the at intersection of Fleur Drive and George Flagg Pkwy (formerly Valley Drive).

What do I need to bring?
Each participant will need to bring an exercise mat, a pair of hand weights (5-8 lbs.), water bottle, running shoes, and a sense of adventure. You can purchase these items inexpensively at your local Wal-Mart, Target, or K-Mart store. Running shoes can be purchased at Sports Authority or any athletic shoe store.
